In the summer of 2008, Beijing Olympic Games was like a flower in bloom attracting the world’s attention as well as mine. When I was watching the equestrian games, I felt unprecedented excitement and enthusiasm, especially when I saw the beautiful body shape, extraordinary courage and charm of those athletes. I have never been touched so deeply by such a harmony and the mutual support between human and animals. However, in spite of this longing for equestrianism I have never found an opportunity to further know it until entering the high school. Facing a variety of clubs, I decided to establish an equestrian club to create, instead of to wait for, the opportunity to pursue my interest.

Wang Guozhen, a famous poet in China, has once stated in his poem, ‘trials and tribulations have to be overcome if ever to reach the determined future’. There were various problems during the establishment, from the club structure to the membership. Yet, I never thought to give up. Instead, difficulties have made me stronger and more stimulated, because I knew that every meaningful thing will encounter trials and tribulations. If I could overcome them, the sun would eventually come out and shine. When I was negotiating the cooperation with Beijing Equestrian Club upon providing a professional horse riding course, they did not take me serious until I gave them a well-structured proposal regarding the objective, the content and potential benefits of the plan. They finally agreed, but on the condition that there should be at least twenty students. This brought me another headache as the registered numbers of our club were nowhere near that number. As the president, I stayed calm and organized the few members to promote the course by putting up posters outside and inside the dining hall. By right of our hard works for three days, we had recruited enough students and opened the horse riding course in time.

Sitting in the bus to Beijing Equestrian Club for the first time, I found it difficult to calm myself down as I desired this success desperately. Later, the coach showed us the horse home, and introduced every horse to us. The one which participated in our course was named Donkey, who was brown-red and very handsome. The riding course has also been difficult for me as well as for other club members, and some of them wanted to gave up especially after one member accidentally fell down from Donkey. The person’s chin was seriously injured and got stitched in the wound. My pressures went up as if my efforts would somehow fail eventually. Under the circumstance, I decided to use my own actions to encourage the members and to show them that riding horse was not scary as long as applying correct method. During that period, I intensified my class with the coach and did a demonstration performance in front of everybody. On that day, I saw the flame of fighting will shining in their eyes again.

It is only a short time after I established the club, yet the experience has given me so many lessons and inspirations. I believe that all those happiness and hardship will become the most beautiful embellishments of my life. And I know there is always going to be another mountain, but I will never let it to knock me down. My perseverance and dedication will accompany me throughout my studies and life.

汪国真，一位知名的中国诗人，曾经在他的一首诗中写道：既然选择了远方，便只能风雨兼程。在成立过程中，遇到了许多问题，从马术社构成，到成员的吸纳。但是，我从未想到过放弃。相反，我愈挫愈勇，因为我知道，每一件有意义的事情，都将遇到考验和磨难。如果我能克服它们，太阳终将升起，并普照大地。当我在和北京马术俱乐部洽谈合作事宜，希望他们能够为我们提供专业的骑马课程时，他们根本不当我一回事，直到我给他们提供了一份严谨的企划书，清晰列出我们计划的目标，内容，以及潜在的益处。他们最后同意了我的计划，但提出一个条件，至少要招收到二十个学生。这给我带来了另一个令人头痛的问题，因为马术社登记在册的人数离那个数字还差一大截。作为马术社主席，我努力保持镇静，将为数不多的成员组织起来，在食堂内外均张贴海报，来宣传马术课程。经过三天的努力，我们招募到了足够的学生，及时地开设了马术课程。

第一次坐在去往马术俱乐部的汽车上，我直觉得心情难以平静，因为我是那么迫切地期盼着这一项目的成功。之后，教练带我们参观了马厩， 向我们介绍了每一匹马。 参加我们课程的那匹马名叫Donkey，全身棕红色，非常英俊。骑马课程无论是对我还是对其他马术社成员，都是十分困难，尤其是在有个社员意外地从Donkey身上滚落坠地后，其中有些人打起了退堂鼓。那人的下巴严重受损，伤口缝了好几针。我的压力骤然上升，仿佛我全部的努力终将付诸东流。在那种情况下，我决定用自己的行动来鼓励团队成员，向他们证明，只要方法得当，骑马没有什么可怕的。 那个阶段，我强化了与教练的训练课程，并当着大家的面作了一次示范。那一天，我看到了全力拼搏的意志之光，在大家的眼中闪亮。

自从马术社成立至今，虽然时间还很短，但这一经历给我带来了许多的教训与启迪。我相信，所有这些快乐与艰难我生命中最美的点缀。我知道永远会有一座大山在等着我，但我永远不会让它将我击垮。我的坚忍不拔以及全身心的投入，将永远陪伴我的学习与生活。
