申请人的团队在比赛中解决的问题：

    要求建立一个模型调查出一个犯罪团伙的可疑成员：已知几名犯罪人, 现要求通过公司中82个人的一部分的聊天记录, 来确定犯罪同伙和领头人. 模型的目标是发现最有可能的犯罪人，最好能给出一份优先名单，并且找到犯罪领导者。

    申请人等在比赛中应用的方法以著名的Google的排名算法PageRank为基础，进行改进后的一种排序算法。

成果：解决问题的办法

    根据模型编程，得出所有人的按嫌疑度大小排序的列表，给出了一份可疑犯罪人的优先名单，分析出犯罪团伙领头人，检验了模型的灵敏性和稳定性，并且加入了text analysis 的方法，使模型能够处理已知大量原始文本信息的情况，该模型有极强的应用性，可以用于对任何种类的网络数据库中相似节点的识别、排序、分类，例如生物网络中被感染细胞的识别。

Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM),challenges teams of students to clarify, analyze, and propose solutions to open-ended problems. The contest attracts diverse students and faculty advisors from over 500 institutions around the world.

The Interdisciplinary Contest in Modeling (ICM), an international contest for high school students and college undergraduates. ICM is an extension of the Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM). It is designed to develop and advance interdisciplinary problem-solving skills as well as competence in written communication.

1. Your ICM submission should consist of a 1 page Summary Sheet and your solution
    cannot exceed 20 pages for a maximum of 21 pages.

The Problem Our Team (consisting of three members) Worked on

During the contest, the participating modelers are required to construct a model with which to find out the suspected members of a crime organization. Based on the information about several known suspects, it is required that we examine part of the chat records of a total of 82 individuals within the company to ascertain the conspiracy leader and his/her accomplices. The aim of the modeling is to discover the most likely criminals, most preferably with a list of potential criminals with an order of priority, and to pinpoint the conspiracy leader.

The Models & Methods Employed

The Problem Solving Process

With the programming of the mathematic models, we developed a list of all individuals arranged according to the level of suspected criminality; from which we generated a list of conspiracy suspects in the order of priority, and through our rigorous analysis, we came to locate the conspiracy leader. We tested the robustness and reliability of our models and added a text analysis function to our modeling so that the models can process a wealth of known and original text information. Moreover, the models as were developed have strong applicability; they can be used to perform such functions as recognizing, ordering and classifying similar nodes in any kind of network database, including the recognition of the infected cells in the biological network. Finally, I drafted the summary and the solution, which were improved by two other team members.
