LSE 金融与经济学 MSc 信息

MSc Finance and Economics

The MSc Finance and Economics will be of interest if you plan a career in a financial institution or a role in industry which calls for advanced analytical skills. It is also good preparation for doctoral research in the area.

The Programme offers the following benefits:

Study in two of the most highly-rated finance departments in the subject areas in the world, both for research and teaching.

The opportunity for high-level graduates to follow an established programme which provides a unique set of perspectives on the operation of financial markets, grounded in financial and economic theory and practice.

Preparation for a variety of careers in the global financial services sector. The programme's emphasis on financial economics is particularly attractive to investment banks, the financial services sector more generally, and to consulting firms.

Close interaction with LSE's Financial Markets Group, which each year attracts some of the leading international finance researchers to present at its many academic research seminars and practitioner conferences, which students are welcome to attend (see FMG).

Application Criteria

Applicants for the MSc Finance and Economics Programme should have a strong undergraduate background in economics, including at least a year of calculus and a semester of linear algebra, or an applied mathematical sciences background with at least a year of economics courses. Applicants with an insufficient background in econometrics may be asked to take an econometrics course in the LSE Summer School as a condition of admission.

Minimum entry requirements are a good upper second honours degree (preferably in economics) from a UK University, or equivalent overseas degree. The degree should have a strong analytical content, including courses in microeconomic theory and econometrics, calculus and matrix algebra.

All applicants must normally submit a GRE test score with their application. GRE scores must show a strong performance in the quantitative segment (above the 85th percentile). GMAT scores of 650 or higher will be considered.

Applicants for whom English is a second language, or who have not studied in English before should provide evidence of their command of English. For the MSc Finance and Economics programme, this should be a minimum of 603 in the TOEFL paper-based test (100 in the computer-based test), or at least 6.5 in the IELTS.
