In addition to the two essays, we will ask you to indicate your career area(s) of interest, explain what attracts you to your career choice(s), and describe how the MIT Sloan M. Fin. Program will help you to meet these goals. (300 words or fewer, limited to one page)

Entering Sloan’s prestigious program and receiving the most unparalleled instructions from the faculty and industry leaders would put me on a much advantaged foundation for career success. My position at China Securities would be reserved while I will be studying at MIT. With heightened knowledge and skills from your program, I will continue to focus on the analysis of the securities market (stocks, bonds, and funds). I enjoy performing quantitative analysis because through rigorous scrutiny of statistics and all sources of information, I can ferret out the inner value of target enterprises and the potential of a particular industry. The job would bring me a tremendous sense of career satisfaction as my outstanding performance would not only bring generous material rewards to myself but also win the heartfelt recognition from my prospective consumers.

Throughout my 7-year undergraduate and graduate programs at Tsinghua University, I was a pitcher of the University Baseball Team. Also, as a super fan of Major League Baseball, I loved to follow the MLB matches and analyze the performance of individual players by analyzing a wealth of statistics. In my own trainings, I loved to improve my pitching strategies and skills by applying statistical analysis. I believe my proficiency in quantitative analysis would be a huge plus to my career.

Chinese analysts proficient with applying quantitative models are quite limited in number and my systematic training at MIT will equip me with unique advantages.
