收到学校面试邀请，回复学校面试的方式和时间，联系面试，并顺便询问面试内容。谁知，在面试之前，申请人就拿到了更好的录取，并已经决定放弃该学校。申请是耗时耗力的工作，在这种情况下，申请人可以选择拒掉面试，节省精力以便应付其他学校。当然，这里的拒绝也需要技巧，不仅要态度恭谨，还要理由充分，不能给对方留下虚伪或无理的印象。

对方来函：

        对方告诉申请人，录取委员会在近几周内就会审阅申请人的申请材料。

        随后进入正题，对方表示在审阅材料前，录取委员会希望面试申请人。由于申请人不在国内，所以面试会用电话或网络来进行。对方考虑了条件因素和时差，提供了几条可行的面试方案，供申请人选择，并要求申请人提供电话号码或Skype账号。

        对方提出面试对环境的要求：希望申请人选择安静，无噪音，不被打扰的地方面试。并提出如果需要电话面试，电话最好是座机。

        对方提供了几个时间选择，请申请人选择两个方便的时间。

我方去函：

        首先感谢对方发来面试邀请。

        说明自己选择Skype作为面试的方式，并报上自己的Skype账号。

        说明自己希望的两个面试日期。

        最后，希望对方说明一下面试的大概内容，以方便自己做必要的准备。但是如果对方不方便透露，则表示自己同样会积极准备面试，并力求表现到最好。

再一次感谢对方。

        申请人拿到了自己更希望的录取，并决定放弃该项目，于是申请人去函对方，取消面试：

        还是要很恭敬，首先感激对方为自己安排面试所做出的努力。并坦承相告：自己拿到了其他的录取，并且该校的项目时间较短，可能不适合自己。最后说自己决定放弃申请，并向对方道歉。
