Dear
Visa Officer:
As
director of the laboratory where the present applicant Mr.
x x x works, I deem it a duty to give a detailed account
of his labwork over the past year.
Since
his graduation in July 2003, Mr. x x x has been working
at my laboratory as research assistant, responsible for
part of the biological research project under my direction
and for the day-to-day operation of the laboratory. I would
like to make a special point clear, that is, although Mr.
x x x is not a formally registered employee of our university
and enjoys no regular salaries, he has been working with
tremendous initiative and conscientiousness because he is
more concerned with accumulating important research experiences
rather than with any materialistic gains. In the special
field of biological research which is dominated mainly by
experimentation, working as research assistant has always
been regarded as an important step for further studies and
for career development. This is because doing extensive
experiments may help determine a person’s research interests
and the directions of his or her career development. Most
importantly, working in the laboratory as a member of a
research team can contribute to the establishment of a sound
understanding and interpersonal relationship between the
research assistant and other team members. This is of special
significance as this working experience can lay a solid
foundation for Mr. x x x to resume his research and quickly
adapt to his role upon completing his degree program in
Canada and coming back to China.
As
is known, China is significantly increasing its input of
research funds for the research of natural sciences. Under
such circumstances, my laboratory has acquired relatively
sufficient research funding. At the same time, research
conditions have been considerably improved. All those call
for highly qualified researchers to work at my laboratory.
Throughout his work, Mr. x x x has demonstrated impressive
commitment for biological research and the unmistaken potential
for becoming a successful biologist in the future. It is
my belief that seeking an advanced degree program from a
world famous Canadian university will make all this possible.
In view of my close understanding of Mr. x x x as a research
assistant and as a person, as well as the excellent working
relationship that has been established between us, I sincerely
hope that he will join our laboratory after obtaining his
degree in Canada. I will reserve an important research position
for him. I have every reason to believe that the advanced
research techniques and the most updated information concerning
the research developments in the international academia
that Mr. x x x can bring us will immeasurably facilitate
our laboratory’s future research. Not only that, Mr. x
x x will win extensive respects from his prospective colleagues
and his career success will be guaranteed.
As
a country, China is providing a broad arena for the returnees
from overseas studies to exercise their talents and they
are playing an increasingly indispensable part in promoting
the scientific and technological development of the nation.
In undertaking his degree program at University of x x x,
Mr. x x x is bound to be one of the well-trained scientists
of biology tomorrow’s academia of China. It is expected
that my recommendation and account of Mr. x x x can help
him obtain the necessary permit for starting his studies
in Canada as scheduled.
Yours
sincerely
