To
whom this may concern:
When
the student Mr. Wang Yaohua indicated to me his strong determination
to pursue an undergraduate education at the most prestigious
university-Yale University, I immediately decided to give
him my full support. The reason why I am so willing to recommend
this promising Chinese student on the point of completing
his senior middle school education at our school is because
he has demonstrated impressive aptitudes in his day-to-day
academic and extracurricular performance and the rich potential
of a talented young man behind his impressive aptitudes.
In order
to write this letter of reference, I have checked carefully
Mr. Wang's academic records. I am happy to discover that
he has performed quite outstandingly in virtually every
course, a fact which you will become aware when you examine
the materials that he submits. Whether it is in his class
or in the entire grade, he is always the most powerful competitor
for being the No. 1 ranking student. Special mention should
be made concerning his proficiency in English language.
I consulted his English teach in detail and learned that
ever since he entered our school he has excelled most of
his classmates in reading comprehension, oral communication,
listening and composition. He participated actively in classroom
discussions by fluent English expressiveness. I believe
that once he is admitted by your esteemed university, he
will had little difficulty in adapting to the new linguistic
environment and his intelligence will ensure that he will
acquit himself satisfactorily in his future degree program.
Based
on my direct observations and on the reports from my colleagues,
I should describe Mr. Wang as a person of excellent conduct,
optimistic character, sociable and friendly with his classmates
and respectful of his teachers. He played an active role
in extracurricular activities. He is the student leader
in charge of the organizational work of the class and he
has fulfilled his duties in this position conscientiously.
As far as I know, he has also been involved in the volunteer
work in local community, providing social services to local
citizens. I once met him in a social event organized by
our school and I was most impressed by his dedication to
his responsibilities. I believe that he has inherited many
of the ethical virtues in traditional Chinese morality and
his outstanding personality, his sociability and his readiness
to be exposed to new things and to meet new people will
facilitate his associations and exchanges with students
coming to study at Yale University from every part of the
world.
Mr.
Wang represents a new generation of Chinese students who
wish to acquire international experience at a very young
age. His pioneering spirit must be appreciated, a spirit
which makes me confident in his ability to carry out his
studies successfully. Therefore, I recommend him very strongly
and it is expected that you can give serious consideration
to his application.
Yours
Sincerely
